Dr Philippe Heilès

Our story

Since 1999, a clinic that keeps moving forward

Philippe Heilès, an equine veterinarian specialising in orthopaedics and surgery since 1992, founded the Clinique équine des Bréviaires in 1999. First based in the centre of Les Bréviaires with two partners, the clinic moved in 2017 to its current site, designed as a true equine hospital.

Now the sole director, he continues to develop his facilities and his team to offer the best possible service to horses and their owners.

The founder

Philippe Heilès

Before founding the clinic, Dr Heilès was head of the Veterinary and Farriery Service of the Garde Républicaine in Paris for 6 years, responsible for 500 horses. His work is now local and ambulatory, but also international: he provides sports and orthopaedic follow-up for many horses belonging to French and foreign riders and owners.

He has been the federal veterinarian of the French show jumping team since 2024. For major sporting events such as the Southeast Asian Games, the Asian Games and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, he prepares the horses of certain show jumping and dressage teams and follows the teams.

As director of the clinic, he now divides his time between running the practice and frequent trips abroad to see horses from all over the world.

The construction of these facilities and of this true hospital shows his determination to keep moving forward and always offer the best possible service. Developing new imaging and surgical technologies has allowed him to:

  • improve the quality of diagnoses and care,
  • look after the well-being of hospitalised horses,
  • optimise their care,
  • build a team of skilled, complementary veterinarians.

Innovation

Innovation, research and training

A clinic that does more than treat: it develops, researches and trains continuously.

01

A scanner designed from scratch

The scanner project represented an enormous amount of work. The Eleva CT platform did not exist: it was installed for the first time at the clinic, as part of a genuine innovation project.

02

Research: Dual Energy

Our teams are carrying out research on Dual Energy technology, with the aim of better showing bone oedema on CT. Other imaging research projects are under way with Dr Alexandre Charles.

03

A team that keeps learning

The clinic's veterinarians regularly attend congresses. Dr Laura Congard trained in osteopathy to offer sessions at the clinic.

Sharing knowledge

Training for veterinarians

In partnership with VetPD, the clinic runs training courses and hosts veterinarians who come to practise, learn and discover new techniques, as close as possible to clinical cases.
